Together with his brother Renzo, the chief oenologist at Marquese Antinori's vineyard in Italy, Dr. Riccardo Cotarella is proprietor of the Falesco vineyard in Umbria. In addition, he advises many renowned Italian winemakers and is thus the most prolific producer of Gault-Millau 'Tre Bicchieri ' wines.

It is in the production of outstanding red wines that he best demonstrates his particular expertise. Today he is one of Italy's most sought-after oenologists, and Graf von Thun is extremely happy to have him as a friend and adviser to his winery in the southwest of France. He is united with Ferdninand Graf von Thun in his passion for producing wines of outstanding quality in the underestimated Tarn region:
